Read all of the reviews for this place and you'll see that it is extremely favored among us locals.
There's not a whole lot more to add to the list of accolades this place has received. Try pretty much anything on the menu and most likely you'll fall in love.

It's simple, fresh, pocket friendly, and abso-frickin-lutely delicious.

Seriously, go there. You will not be disappointed...unless you eat a bowl of poo before you go...but even then, one bite will take the poo taste away and your palate will enter taste-bud Shangri-la. No joke.

I went here yesterday right before they closed and I was expecting something miraculous to happen to me. I at first gave this place a 3 because I ordered the fruit salad and didn't know what fruit it was going to come with and ended up getting some things I wasn't too fond of. But I can't rate this place on one single item. My friend also tried the strawberries and cream....that my friends was amazing and I would recommend everybody buys that item in abundance. And I really want to get on top of trying the ceviche and tostadas next time.  If I'm in the neighborhood I'll definately stop by again.

I love this place more than I love myself. I would risk bodily harm and throw myself in front of a speeding Trolley to save one of their delicious fruit salads. Before eating the sweet, sweet Jesus candy, I usually wrap my to-go container in a soft, cuddly blanket and sing love songs to it. Typically, my fruit salads enjoy the smooth sounds of Lionel Richie, but as of late, they get all tingly for Josh Grobin. Yeah, it's whack...but if my watermelons, honey dew melons, cantaloupes, strawberries, bananas, mangos, peaches, cottage cheese, granola, raisins and honey want me to recite the lyrics of that pansy ass, I guess I have to comply.

Once I've melted the proverbial panties off of my bundle of fructose, I dive right in with reckless abandon. Lemon yellow, orange, cherry red, kaleidoscope eyes! The world is on fire! Just when I think I've had enough, a kiwi fruit appears and whispers something sexy in my ear like, "suck me, beautiful." Oh, you bet I'll suck...I'll suck long and hard and I'll never let go.

If you can't tell, I've kinda got a thing for their fruit salad.

fruitilandia!! ive only had the strawberries and creme and it was oh so yummy, my friend tried the fruit salad which i personally would probably have liked better if it was without papayas : / this place is cheap, and the employees are friendly, and the food is great, how could you go wrong? i definitely plan on trying the fruit salad with the lime and cayenne today tho, just without papayas of course :P

update: okay! so yesterday i finally had the fruit salad with the lime and cayenne yesterday and it was pretty yummy, once again i didnt like the papayas or the coconuts but thats just me :P, um... the watermelons were a little heavy on the salt but the mangoes were delicioso!! now.. if only i can just have a bowl of mangoes with lime and chili, ill be set :)

Hey wait, this place is Frutilandia -- somebody posted a review pointing out it was spelled wrong here on Yelp, and it was corrected for awhile, but now it's reverted to its old and wrong spelling. What gives?!

Frutilandia is magical.

Strawberries & Creme:  Strawberries, granola and sweetened condensed milk = the stuff my dreams are made of.  Dreams and thighs. Whichever.

I eat here for breakfast almost everyday and it's the best.  The fruit is always perfect.  They seem to be able to have consistently ripe mangoes, which is hard to do.  For a special treat get the fresas con crema.  It's ridiculously good.

After a hot day of walking around town, showing the sights to an out of towner, a nice refreshing smoothie sounded like the perfect idea.  Sure, you can go to Jamba Juice and pay $5 for one and wait 30 minutes (like the last time I was in there) but I preferred going to check out this gem that I had heard so many good things about on yelp.

The place itself is pretty basic but they crank out some tasty smoothies.  When you walk up to the counter you can see all of the fresh fruits on display that are being chopped up as you wait.  No sauces or concentrates here.  I opted for the mango papaya which was good, although the papaya seemed to overwhelm the flavor of the mango.  Pineapple coconut was also an interesting combination but not for me.  You can pick whatever fruits you want, it comes out pretty quickly and a delicious treat for a very reasonable price.  The fruit salad, with cottage cheese, honey, raisins, and more fruit than you could eat looked tempting.  I'll have to try that next time.

Listen up, gentlemen... so on one of our first few dates, my (now) boyfriend brought dessert out of his fridge and called it his "secret weapon".  I thought it was that was a creepy comment, until I tasted the deliciousness that is fresas con crema from Fruitlandia.   Needless to say, he sealed the deal that night, and Fruitlandia will always have a special place in my heart.

So this isn't the watered down, grey colored crema you might get at other fruterias, and it's definitely not diet food.  Thick, white, perfectly sweet crema with fresh strawberries is the way to go... forget about all that hippy granola and honey stuff!  They also have some delicious ceviche, I like getting a container to go and baking some fresh corn or flour tortillas at home (for the tostada), the corn ones you get at the shop aren't my favorite.

Thank you Yelp. Thank you so very much for introducing me to this diamond in the rough.

Ceviche tostadas on the cheap? I'm there.

Sweet ambrosia of the gods dubbed "escamocha," which is pretty much a party in your mouth? I'm sold.

I think I'm beginning a sweet and sordid love affair with this fine little establishment.

Minus one star for having to venture East of the 805. It got a bit skurry.

"diamond in the rough" is an understatement...city heights is pretty intense. but once you get inside the building, bland as it appears inside and out, you won't be disappointed. i got the "fruit salad" which is loaded with cottage cheese of all things. i've had a lot of really strange foods from all over the world, but cottage cheese is something i've always been really afraid of, for good reason i think - but it turned out to be great, particularly in the medium delivered (mixed with honey, granola, and fresh fruits). i can't explain what made it quite so good, i mean, there's nothing too special about a fruit salad, right? nothing you can't do at home, really - but i need no explanation, this is FRUTILANDIA, where fruti-magic happens!

my sister got some sort of strawberry parfait made with sweetened condensed milk, also delicious, though far more gluttonous - i preferred the fruit salad, if only for the refreshing after-treat feeling, though i wish i didn't let them put papaya in it (why does it even exist? tastes like foot)

Yahoo my first bookmark taken care of!! This place is yummy!! the Fruit is super fresh and they DO speak English...so I'm not sure if they are punking the other people that went in here.
I had the fruit salad and there were PEARS in it yo...pears. Top notch for that one. The prices are right and if you're too lazy to go get all the ingredients to make this at home mine as well walk around the corner.
The place is clean, you watch them make your salad for you so you know what's going on (which is nice)
Good stuffs...can't wait to go back. Great neighborhood find.

I have driven by before, curious to know if it will be like a fruteria in Mexico sure enough it was.   The have pico de gallo (fruit with cajun pepper and lemon by the way that is a Mexican thing)
Ensalada de fruta with all sort of fruits, cottage cheese, granola, and honey on top.  Also smoothies, fruit waters, and liquados.

One of their specialties is escamochas.   I thought escamochas were fruit ice shavings but they are not.  To my surprise they  put a bunch of different fruits in a big container diced finely with the knife, poured in a cup then they put some condensed milk (lechera), sliced almonds, granola, shredded coconut, and make a couple layers of this.  OMG I could die for this!
This could be a snack place or a lunch place.  I also saw some people ordering tostadas de ceviche.  I will have to yelp their ceviche some time.
No credit cards only cash I had to go to the nearest ATM.  Parking is available behind the building.

I felt like a greedy little kid when I went to this store for the first time.
Where else can you get ceviche,  strawberries and cream, and banana splits?!

We walked in and ordered one of everything (Cost about twenty bucks but covered two people).  My ceviche tostada was excellent for the price.    The fruit salad is fresh (I believe thats what the chop chopping sound from the back is) and comes with cayenne and lime if you like.  I like.  It reminds me a bit of indian fruit chaat.

I didnt love the banana split or the multiple fruit in cream thing (starts with an "e."  I cant spell)

My friend disappeared for an eternity right after the food was ordered.  I was so happy - like an unattended augustus gloop who never got sucked into the chocolate waterfall vacuum.   Gloriously, this place doesnt require a golden ticket - just a couple dollars.  I feel like taking an indulgent dip right now

Good stuff! Perfect on a hot day when you don't feel like working in the kitchen. We only tried the fruit salad, which was really fresh, as I couldn't remember the name of the escamochas (thought it had coffee in it when I read it on the menu. "mochas...") I'll be gettin' that next time!

This place is amazingly good.  Fruit salads come with fresh papaya, watermelon, honeydew, cantaloupe, grapes and pineapple topped with granola, cottage cheese, shaved coconut and honey.  It sounds simple but is exceptionally delicious.  So much so that it's inspired me to make my own fruit salads too.

Freshly made smoothies for about half the price of Jamba Juice and the like. I always feel a little out of my element since I don't speak enough Spanish to even select fruits, but it's worth my minor discomfort (and, perhaps, learning the language) to get their amazing goodies.
