What's the name of that place on Far West (I think) that has the creme brulee french toast?

That place was good and deserves a 4-5 star review.

Chez Zee!

DAMN that place is GOOD, but $$$$$$$$$!  The only time I got to go there was when I crashed my rich cousin's wedding party.  I couldn't afford anything but my rich cousin's rich mama luckily footed the bill.

I will check out South Congress Cafe, just cause it's close to my new place. FYI: Blue Star Cafe serves excellent brunch, come to find out.

Heh, was going to recommend Bouldin Creek since you're down south and saw your review.

If you mean favorite breakfast places, the ones I miss most are: Bouldin Creek and Mothers for normal egg breakfast stuff, La Madeleine for bakery type, and Trudy's or Enchiladas y Mas for migas.
Oh, and Taco Shack breakfast tacos.

If you're talking about the diner type itself, Kerbey (queso or pancakes), Starseeds (one breakfast taco fills a big plate, sort of random what's good though), and Magnolia were my favorite, though those might have been a little more about atmosphere and late night than food :P

I have to agree with Patrick and Carrie on Chez Zee. Their creme brulee french toast is enough to make it worth your while.

Paggi House (on Riverside near the Lamar intersection) deserves a mentions with their unbeatable outside atmosphere and bottomless mimosas. It is a great place to go for an extended weekend brunch. You really feel like you're dining up in the tree-tops. It is a bit pricey.

The Frisco Shop on Burnet @ 2222/Koenig. It's been there at least 50 years. Great pancakes...eggs...all great breakfast stuff.....burgers and fries are great too.

Star Seeds is great if you are also a fan of sitting on the toilet for hours at a time.  If not, try Red River Cafe.  Cheap, decent breakfast food, and hot chicks...oh, wait, you're a girl.  tons of hot men?

I was at the Galaxy Cafe today and noticed they have a brunch menu.  Haven't tried it, but I really love their lunch fare.

I don't really think of this as "brunchy," exactly, but the migas at both Elsi's on Burnet and El Sol y la Luna are fab.  I get mine "con hongos" (with shrooms) at El Sol.

The cafe at the Dart Bowl near Woodrow and North Loop (2222).  Serioiusly, the cafe at a bowling alley serves perhaps the best breakfast in town.  It's so good that they get reviews in magazines about food, and while it is a bit of a greasy spoon, the staff isn't bowling employees who drew the short straw and have to make nachos all day, but rather folks that appear intent on making sure your breakfast gets your day started right.
