well, if by brunch you mean, breakfast and lunch entrees served on the weekends, then yes. If you mean like some kind of buffet, then no. You could go to Luby's for that. haha..

I'd like to hear more brunch ideas. Meat is okay.

For me, my faves are the migas at Trudy's, Juan in a Million (the Don Juan tacos), Magnolia Cafe, and Kerbey Lane. All local and all delicious. All four are reviewed, too. Oh, and Las Manitas is supposed to be the best but I have not had a chance to go yet.

Alex M. says:
You *must* go to Las Manitas! Pick a sunny day and ask to sit in the garden out back.
(I was looking to branch out beyond "diners", since I felt like I hit them all up as an undergrad, hence this thread. But I guess we're all just used to TexMex brunch. Which is a very very good thing.)
My parents actually just said positive things about the brunch at MannyHattan's for when your weekend looks like Costco / REI 183 / etc:

Higher end - I have enjoyed the Four Seasons brunch. It is very fancy with champagne and caviar. But also tasty and fun.

Manny A. says:
Agree Four Seasons = A number one -- special treat on occassion --- but just for week-end low brow hangout fun recover from the night before place -- would rather try Austin laid back casual joints -- South Congress - Las Manatis - Kerby Lane etc. --

I saw the magic words "H&H bagels" -- I wonder if they are heating up the dough? All that NYC "it's the water!" bagel debating. Mmmmm, bagels.

Eastside Cafe has a very pleasant and affordable brunch with good coffee and a delicious frest fruit cup. Also try their giant Belgian waffle!

Sarah -- Eastside Cafe was a GREAT suggestion for brunch. Everyone got tasty treats. My belgian waffle had strawberries, a mountain of whipped cream, and a side of grits. Coffee was solid, as was the orange juice. My tablemates got eggs and joined the clean plate club. Yum! And such a nice, relaxed setting.

I'd also add Chez Zee and Fonda San Miguel to the mix for great brunch places...I've actually never had FSM's, but have heard amazing things about it and I LOVE their dinner fare, so can't imagine that their brunch fare would be anything less than stellar.

Dude, this is a topic near and dear to my heart. I'm a brunchin' fool! And I feel like Austin lacks in this regard. But I was with Chewy when we hit up Eastside's brunch, and it was fairly awesome. My only complaint? No champers!! What kind of brunch doesn't include mimosas?!?!

I've tried Manny Hattan's a couple times. Wish I could say it was better. Just okay....wish it was better....I'd love a good Northeastern style bagel!
